Branch 110 Comrades joined with their Comrades from 413 Air Force Wing to remember and honour those who fought in the Battle of Britain, including survivor John Mylod, pictured below with Legion and Wing Comrades Hugh MacKay and Tommy Thomas.

National Horseback Ride for Veterans - August 18, 2015

Comrades of Branch 110 Colour Party and the Ladies Auxiliary Colour Party were honoured to take part in the ceremony at the Afghanistan Memorial in Bain Park for the National Horseback Ride for Veterans.  Military Veteran Paul Nichols, his wife, and a team of volunteers have been traveling on horseback across the country for the past several months using riding/walking trails and visiting the various Legions throughout Canada.  Their purpose is to make Canadians aware of our Veterans, the impact it has not only on our Veterans but their families as well, and to raise funds for Veterans.  Their travels will take them to Newfoundland where they hope to arrive in time for Remembrance Day, November 11.

Among the Special Guests in attendance was Silver Cross Mother Darlene Cushman, whose son Trooper Darryl Caswell was killed in Afghanistan.  Also present were members of the CAV.

Branch 110 hosted a capacity crowd on Canada Day.  With the beautiful weather, folks enjoyed sitting on the patio as well as in the Lounge.  Thank you to Tom Langer and his crew who did an excellent job of decorating the Lounge.  Thank you also to Lynn Felker for organizing the prizes as well as painting the beards and moustaches RED for the occasion.  Rosemary and her mom were kept busy with the BBQ/canteen.  Our bartenders were also kept busy throughout the day.  The crowd danced all day to the band, THE SHADOWS.

Rick Norlock  MPP for Northumberland-Quinte West, announced at Branch 110 recently that the Branch has received a grant in the amount of $25 000.00 from New Horizons for Seniors to replace the aging tables & chairs in the Lounge and to upgrade the PA system.  Shown are Veterans' Services Officer George Whittle, Mr. Norlock, President Manny Raspberry and Secretary/Grant Writer Gloria Johnson.


Three teams represented Branch 110 at a recent fund raising Dart Tournament at 413 Wing.
